VAN WERT — Two Mercer County men face sentencing on Jan. 22 for sex crimes. Adam Steinbrunner, 38, Rockford, pleaded guilty to four counts of voyeurism, misdemeanors of the first degree. According to an investigation, Steinbrunner had been watching a girl under the age of 17 as she was undressed and in the shower on several occasions.

Steinbrunner faces up to six months in jail and $1,000 fines on each of the four counts. He is expected to be classified as a Tier 1 Sex Offender which would require Steinbrunner to register with law enforcement every six months for the next 15 years.

Also facing sentencing is Ralph Oberlitner, 22, Mendon. Oberlitner was indicted in May of 2013 after being accused of trying to force a woman into sexual conduct. The female victim reportedly knew Oberlitner from high school. She claimed Oberlitner picked her up to take her to a friend’s house but instead took her to a wooded area in Celina and forced her into sexual contact.

He is facing a possible 18-month prison sentence and up to a $5,000 fine. It is also possible for Oberlitner to be declared a Tier 3 Sex Offender, which would require him to register with law enforcement every 90 days for the rest of his life.
