VAN WERT — The Van Wert high school athletics department is seeking applications to fill their open varsity head coach position with the boys soccer program.
Former head coach George Scott tendered his resignation earlier this month and it was accepted by the Van Wert school board at its December meeting.
Van Wert finished the 2013 season at 1-15 and 0-9 in Western Buckeye League play.
Though the team struggled overall, there were some bright spots throughout the campaign, including the emergence of sophomore goal keeper Wade Healy and the play of midfielder Joe Lisa, a junior, who was named to the all-WBL second team.
