Van Wert City Police

12/1 5:39 p.m.

Eric P. Friedrich, 26, of Van Wert, was arrested for domestic violence after an investigation found him to be the primary aggressor in an incident that took place in the city of Van Wert.

12/2 11:24 p.m.

Kitti Alena Johnson, 30, of Van Wert, was arrested for domestic violence after an altercation on Crestwood Drive.

12/4 1:40 a.m.

Christopher W. Frank, 18, of Van Wert, was arrested for a warrant issued out of Van Wert Municipal Court.

12/5 7:16 p.m.

Dustin J. Taylor, 26, of Van Wert, was arrested on a warrant for child support.

Delphos City Police

On 12-01-2017, officers were sent to the 1100 block of North Washington Street to investigate a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival officers met with two males and spoke with each separately. After investigating the incident officers found probable cause to arrest 20 year old, Jacob Schafer, for causing physical harm to a family or household member. Schafer was taken into custody for domestic violence as well as an outstanding arrest warrant out of Allen County. He will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charge.

On 12-01-2017, a female came to the police department to report a theft incident. The female told officers that a fraudulent charge was made on her credit card. A report was taken and the female was advised to cancel the credit card to prevent future fraudulent charges.

On 12-02-2017, officers spoke with a male in the 400 block of Grant Street. The male told officers that he discovered someone had forced entry into his garage. The male reported that nothing was missing at this time.

On 12-02-2017, officers spoke with a female at the police department in reference to a possible child abuse complaint. The female stated that her daughter was possibly abused while staying at her father’s residence located in Putnam County. Officers took a report and forwarded it to Children’s Services and Putnam County Sheriff’s Office for follow-up investigation.

On 12-02-2017, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Bredeick Street to investigate a theft complaint. Officers spoke with a male at his residence and were told that money was stolen from his wallet. The male stated that two females were inside of his residence at the time of the theft. The incident remains under investigation.

On 12-02-2017, officers were contacted in reference to a possible protection order violation occurring in the 600 block of North Main Street. Officers arrived in the area and located the suspect, 55 year old Peter Vasquez of Delphos. Vasquez admitted to officers that he was at the residence in which he was court ordered to keep away from. Vasquez was taken into custody and transported to the Allen County Jail. He will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charge of violating a protection order.

On 12-03-2017, officers met with a female at the Delphos Police Department. The female told officers that she was awaiting delivery of a package from the post office. The female was made aware that the package was delivered to the wrong address. The female attempted to make contact with the resident where the package was delivered, but was unable to. The female requested officers to make contact with the resident to get the package back. As of report time officers were unable to locate the resident.

On 12-03-2017, officers were sent to the 500 block of West 1st Street to take a theft report. Officers spoke with the complainant there and were advised that items were stolen from inside her vehicle.

On 12-03-2017, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Main Street after receiving a complaint of an altercation. Officers arrived and met with a female who stated she witnessed and assault. She stated that a female had assaulted a male that she was visiting. After speaking with the male and female involved in the dispute, due to conflicting stories, officers could not determine a primary physical aggressor. Neither party wished to pursue charges and, both were advised to separate for the night.

On 12-04-2017, officers were sent to the 300 block of South Main Street for a male who was threatened by a female. Upon arrival officers met with a male who stated that his neighbor threatened him with a crossbow. Officers spoke with the female who admitted to the allegations. The crossbow was recovered as evidence and the female, 56 year old Tammy Best, of Delphos, was arrested for aggravated menacing. Best was transported to the Allen County Jail and will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charge.

On 12-04-2017, officers met with a female in the 200 block of West Clime Street in reference to a telecommunications harassment complaint. The female told officers that someone, unknown to her, were sending unwanted text messages. The female gave officers the name of a possible suspect and the incident remains under investigation.

On 12-05-2017, officers spoke with a resident in the 200 block of West Clime Street who reported a theft. The male told officers that gas was siphoned from his vehicle. The male stated that this has occurred in the past, but this was the first that he had reported it.

On 12-06-2017, a female contacted the police department to report that someone had damaged a gate on her property in the 100 block of West 3rd Street. The female requested extra patrol at her residence.

On 12-06-2017, officers, while investigating a separate complaint in the 200 block of West Clime Street located a male with an outstanding arrest warrant. The male, 46 year old William David Beachler, of Delphos, was wanted in Shelby County. Beachler was taken into custody and transported to the Van Wert County Jail to await pick-up by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
