VAN WERT –Van Wert County court news for Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017. Judge Martin Burchfield heard the following cases in Van Wert Common Pleas Court:

ARRAIGNMENTS (all pled not guilty)

Trinity Thurston, 38, Van Wert, domestic violence, F4. Released on a surety bond with pretrial set for Jan. 3, 2018 at 8 a.m.

Johnathon McBride, 23, Van Wert, domestic violence, F4. Released on a surety bond with an order to have no contact with the alleged victims. Pretrial set for Dec. 20, 2017 at 8 a.m.

Johnathon Murphy, Jr., 32, Van Wert, aggravated burglary, F1; trespass in a habitation, F4. Released on a surety bond if on electronic house arrest, may not have any contact with the alleged victim, and may not be at 150 Fox Road. Pretrial set for Dec. 20, 2017 at 8 a.m.

Rex Allen Keysor, 48, Van Wert, theft of drugs, F3. He was released on a surety bond with an order to have no contact with the alleged victim. Pretrial set for Dec. 21, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.

Corey Davis, 25, Van Wert, illegal manufacture of drugs, F1; illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, F2; illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, F3. His bond was set at $100,000 cash or commercial surety and pretrial set for Dec. 21, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.

PROBATION VIOLATIONS

Jeramy Hanjora, 41, Delphos, admitted to violating his probation by possessing meth. He was sentenced to 180 days jail, with credit for 121 days served. A remaining 59 days is to be served in jail or on electronic house arrest.

Janet St. John, 34, Fort Wayne, Indiana, admitted to violating her probation by failing to report to probation. She was sentenced to 180 days jail, 90 suspended, and credit for 27 days served. She was also served with 3 years probation.

BOND VIOLATION

David Scott, 32, Van Wert, admitted violating his probation by a positive drug test. Sentencing set for Jan. 3, 2018 and his bond was re-set at $10,000 cash or commercial surety.

Amanda Barnes-Hensley, 35, Van Wert, admitted to violating her bond by failing to report to probation. Her bond was re-set at $10,000 cash or commercial surety, and pretrial was set for Dec. 20, 2017 at 9 a.m.

HEARING

Alec Thomas, 33, motion for modification of sentence. The modification was granted effective Jan. 2, 2018, to allow defendant to serve the remainder of his sentence on electronic house arrest after Jan. 2, 2018.

Ryan Miller, 28, Middle Point, motion for modification of sentence. The modification was granted effective Jan. 2, 2018 to allow defendant to serve the remainder of his sentence on electronic house arrest after Jan. 2, 2018.

CHANGE OF PLEA

Frank Bill, 62, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to 2 counts of aggravated possession of drugs, F5. He then requested and was granted intervention in lieu of conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

Beth Wright, 48, Convoy, changed her plea to guilty to unauthorized use of a vehicle, F5, (amended from unauthorized use F3). The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Jan. 31, 2018 at 9 a.m.
